Edit plain text notifications

I'm using 1.4.9.6 and found this weird for the email notifications in plain text.
It doesn't display the following details in plain text - name, contact details, shipping address. Only when the email is loaded in HTML, then it shows the details.
Is it possible to display the customer details in the plain text version ? If Yes, how ?
