need some help

Ok love the software by the way and have made a number of small modifications successfully
2 things
1) what do i need to do to put a small link at the bottom of the shopping cart module (which i have positioned on the left column) to the checkout page
2) when i click on a category the page comes up with two identical links to each of the product. is there a way to remove one of these. Also the categories seem also duplicated as well
