The sites been live for about 6 months now. The original version was desktop only but this new version is responsive:
bespoke bridal bags and accessories
Its based on my own template. I've made a number of changes to the core files, however i've used vqmod so hopefully any future upgrade hastles will be kept to a minimum.
Some of the main modifications: flexslider featured carousel (works well with touch screen devices), responsive menus, fancybox (instead of colorbox), ‘scroll to’ links on information pages, svg images.
We're not getting much traffic yet. I've not spent much time on the seo side which is now where i need to concentrate my efforts!
This is a very nice looking bespoke website. You have used your own template you say and you can certainly see this as there is nothing generic about it.
Just a couple of points for your consideration...
I am using Firefox 21.0 on 1280 x 1024 and to me the thumbnails of the white/ivory products (especially the handbags) look a bit lost against the white background - some you can hardly see - so this might be an issue. Perhaps white isn't the best colour choice for thumbnails without borders?
Also, should the main banner on the homepage scroll ? If so, it didn't for me. I just saw a smiley happy couple each time I visited and refreshed.
Another suggestion would be to have the pricing more pronounced and make it more obvious you need to click on the main thumbnail to view and buy the product. For those of us who are not so net savvy it might not be obvious.
There is probably some room in the footer to add secure payment/checkout info (card/padlock logos) if you can get some to match the colour scheme this would be in keeping with the design and also assure your customers you are a secure option.
Best of luck with the website. I am sure traffic will start to flow if you concentrate your efforts on marketing it properly like you say.
