I'm new and been reading the post about the USPS mod. and just got my email from USPS with my username and password. I noticed there is no where to enter the password, only the username?! Does it not need the pass? Can not get it to bring up any data, just the warning, error. Read one post about the same problem and they were saying contact USPS to get it turned on for openCart. Then i got to thinking, well, maybe there is no setup for the Testing site, only for the production site. Went to looking around in the folders for a link to maybe change it to point to the testing server and not the production server and can't find anything, only a bunch of dynamic code which i think may build the url but no luck finding even the start of the url. Is this correct? Does openCart not have a setting to use the Testing USPS server for quotes while testing? or am i way out field and got all this wrong to start? Please any help will be welcomed. Rick.
As for those wondering, i think i'm right on about openCart not able to use the testing server on USPS. I emailed them last night and this morning they had responded back saying that i needed at least 2 good connections to the testing server before they could turn me on to there production server. They said i would not need that if using a 3rd party software. I email back with i was using openCart and 2 hours later they had me up and going on the production server. It all works great and is fast, yet can't get it to list for "First Class Parcel"!!!! I use it a lot on items 13 oz or less and it want bring it up. I know there's been changes on the wording of that this year and hope openCart has a work around for fixing this. If anyone knows of it please post here and let me know. I'll be searching tonight about it, hope i find away to fix it. I am really proud of openCart and get that going, will have a truly nice site, me not as experienced with site building as most would be. Thanks, Rick.
FYI....... Solved all, but still have needs in shipping. They turned on USPS production server for me and now getting good quotes. Also had my weight set for oz. and change to pounds and all is fine there. (1 oz = .0625 pounds. Quotes work great that way) The only problem is my items are odd sizes and some items want go in the package on quotes that will ship the weight. Meaning 3 small items will fit, yet 1 small and 1 large want, yet the weight would work. Got to get some kind of extension or module to keep all that right and working properly. Will shop around for one. Wished openCart had better instructions or maybe a book to buy to help set all this up. (more in depth than the one i have) Also, still have not got the first reply here, guess everyone feels i'm doing good on my own
...... wrong!! Yet i'm working on it. Thanks, Rick.
