Hi,
I have a demo site I have put up and want to have visitors go into the admin either to just,
see what it looks like so they can't change anything or
change things and it will revert back after a few minutes.
Any guidance here please?
Thanks
oz :-)
PS: Happy Mothers Day to the mothers.. :-)

Hi, for the first thing, you could just use the default admin users feature. You can create and configure the modify/ access permissions for a user very easily in system/user/usergroups

Thank you.
I am in User/Groups but not sure what I tick. :-)
I just want them to be able to see things not change anything.
Also where do I add the id and password say, demo, demo/
Thanks again
oz

Oh well..
Tried to create a demo/demo user and did, but didn't create any permissions so can only get into the Dashboard.
Can't get in at all using my Top admin login to correct it.
What is the best way to get back on track here please so i can log in ad administrator.

okay...
Realized I had not created a 'demo' user, I had just changed admin to demo.
Went intro phpmyadmin and turned pwd into 'password' .
Added 'Admin' and password whilst I was there so this got me backing having an Admin.
Logged in as admin and then inserted a new user for demonstration.
All okay now.. Whew !! Nothing like goofing up and getting back after a few tries.

Thanks for sharing, you pointed me in the right direction to get a demo account set up to give developers access to correct their modules.
Now I just need to learn which permissions NOT to give.
I checked ALL boxes for ACCESS, and only selected the MODIFY for the actual extension name of the person who made it.
I hate giving out my password to developers who need to access my admin to find out what conflicts are causing problems.
I had seen an extension in regards to this but now I can find it.
Any input from the community would be awesome.

I would suggest no access permission for payments extensions (think API credentials), orders, customers(for emails eg) and other private data
