South Africa shipping rates

Hello.. I am tearing my hair out as I cant seem to set up SA shipping rates on OpenCart. My site is: http://www.shoppingmatters.co.za. please can anyone advise or help, i am self taught. thanks

How do you charge for shipping? Via weight? Order total? Physical volume? Number of items? You can do flat rates, per item rates, or weight based shipping using built-in shipping methods in OpenCart, but if you need something beyond that you'll need to get a shipping extension. Formula-Based Shipping can do any of those rate types mentioned above

Thanks for the response. I specify the weight of each item (there are loads of them) and need the weight to calculate at the end which I think I may have got that part sorted out but not sure once the weight is calculated I then need to apply SAPO rates and give a total Rand amount adding to the shopping basket total so its all automated. I know if this doesnt happen the clients usually log out and the sale is lost.

You'd need to create all the rates for SAPO in Formula-Based Shipping to charge via weight. It would then show up as a shipping option during checkout, and the customer can select it.

Not sure if this is what you want, but there's also a Fastway Couriers extension here:

I don't know anything about it, so you'd need to contact the developer about it.

Hey Creativity, Just FYI.

We use 3 options for shipping. SAPO weight based, Seed Services Up to 5 Kgs and Berco econo shipping. We tried going the Fastway route 3 times and their lack of response was ....... well lacking

Note that SAPO is vacillating with either implementing volumetric weight, they implemented on the 1st April and then pulled it a few weeks later, but I have been informed that they may re-implement again.
