Is there a way of keeping order numbers in consecutive order as i see that sometimes when carts are abandoned they take the next order number (i think this is what causes it) and this leaves missing order numbers when next customer places order
Do a search for a vqmod from Qphoria. I think it's called temp order ID or something close to that. This will fix your issue.
