Hi,

I find the built in filter module pore on flexibility.

I have a store with many products which have many different attributes. If i where to setup every attributes as filers under Catalog -> Filters, this would be very timeconsuming. Also, it would not look nice with a bunch (400+) of checkboxes on the filter page. Also, there is many other functionality problems mentioned in the forums.

Have the OC team considered rewriting this module?

In my opinion it would be a better solution to take advantage of the already existing attributes system to make a filter module.

There are several extensions that already do that like simon filters. perhaps you should use one of them instead?

Personally, I have simon filters, but prefer the new filter system as it gives me much finer control, but it's a matter of preference. I haven't switched to 1.5.5 yet, but the main reason I want to is because of the filter system.

Running Opencart v3.0.3.9 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.

I see. Could you send me link to the extension you are using?

IMO, the filter offers more flexibility than linking the attributes as filters. I do see some functionality lacking / incorrect though.

1. Associating images (color) with filters.
2. For multiple selections in the filter, the following logic would be appropriate -
- Multiple selection WITHIN a filter group, it should be "OR" operation.
- Multiple selection ACROSS filter group, it should be "AND" operation.

Thanks and Regards,
Manik
