Hi Readyman,
Thank you for your headsup..
But as I'm pretty new and doesn't know any coding.. I would like to have a further guide on Adding Additional Columns for reference only, without showing in the Cart -- especially the Cost price with and without GST? If you don't mind?
Edit: Presently I'm trying to work with Jneuhoff for his assistance to solve the products not shown after import issue..
Thank you.

I sent you a PM. The reason for the error was the usage of invalid stock_status_id=50 values in your spreadsheet data. I changed them all to stock_status_id=7 (In Stock) , and it worked fine.

Thank you JNeuhoff!! Will update you the progress later..
On a side note, do you think you can add the Import Customers function for this Tool? It would be wonderful..

In addition, I noticed, its not possible to have alphabets in front of the ProductID as a prefix, ie, PS001, can that be made possible?

You can still edit or upload products manually via the Opencart admin backend.
The Export/Import tool does not upload the images themselves, only their names. The image files need to be uploaded via e.g. FTP.

Hi,
I exported/imported successfully and see all my items in my admin backend under catalog > products, but when I go to my store, there is nothing there except the test items that I added manually from backend.
Thanks!

Make sure your products are all associated with correct category_ids and correct store_ids. Also, that their status_enabled is always set to true.

Sorry, I'm not really sure how to set the products to the correct store_ids. I tried setting Location to 0 and setting a date_available to a past date and I got
Notice: Undefined variable: formatstr in .../public_html/admin/pear/Spreadsheet/Excel/Reader.php on line 635
Thanks for the quick reply!

So do you or do you not have proper values in the columns
categories
store_ids
status_enabled
in your Products worksheet?

the categories section was left empty for the time being and the status_enabled column was listed as true for all prducts, but I don't even have a column that says store_ids in my product worksheet.
thanks.

Looks like you are using the wrong version of the Export/Import tool, because both the Categories and Products worksheets should contain a store_ids column. Please download from
http://www.mhccorp.com/downloads-opencart.shtml and re-install.

When i export the xls file with the newest version of the Import/Export tool, i get a weird looking xls file. The file looks like this:
First 2 lines:
<b>Warning</b>: set_time_limit() has been disabled for security reasons in <b>/sites/extigo.nl/www/webshop/admin/controller/tool/export.php</b> on line <b>76</b>ÐÏࡱá;þÿ ‘þÿÿÿ’“ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ »

Try to comment out the line 76 in file /sites/extigo.nl/www/webshop/admin/controller/tool/export.php, chances are it may work without changing the time limit. Your webhost has an overly cautious security configuration.

Hi, I downloaded Export/Import and after a few glitches I got it to work perfectly. So many thanks for the mod.
However, as my business is personalised gifts I needed extra options so I bought the 'Global Mega Options' Module. When I first uploaded GMO it all worked fine. Then I uploaded my products using the Export/Import tool. Then I got a problem with an error message on my product pages where the options should be. So I re-uploaded GMO and everything was fine again.
Then I added all the options I wanted to the products. Then I decided to export them so I would have all the correct details in the Export/Import spreadsheet. But when I went to do that I realised that the Export/import module was no longer showing up in admin. So what I think is happening is that GMO & Export/Import alter the same files? But I don’t know which bit is of which file is the culprit.
I have emailed the GMO seller and he has not come across this problem before. Does anyone else know how to solve it? I don’t mind manually adding the GMOptions to products as many of them are different anyway. It’s just that I don’t want to have to manually add the products themselves.

Please follow the install instructions, especially step 3).
1)
You may want to do a backup copy of the following files because these will be overwritten:
admin/controller/common/header.php
admin/language/english/common/header.php
admin/view/template/common/header.tpl
2)
Copy the files from the 'upload' directory to your target installation directory
of OpenCart.
3)
After installation, the following files are now newly added:
admin/controller/tool/export.php
admin/language/english/tool/export.php
admin/model/tool/export.php
admin/view/template/tool/export.tpl
admin/pear/ChainedBlockStream.php
admin/pear/OLE.php
admin/pear/PEAR5.php
admin/pear/PEAR.php
admin/pear/PPS.php
admin/pear/System.php
admin/pear/Console/Getopt.php
admin/pear/PEAR/Exception.php
admin/pear/PEAR/FixPHP5PEARWarnings.php
admin/pear/PPS/File.php
admin/pear/PPS/Root.php
admin/pear/Spreadsheet/Excel/Reader.php
admin/pear/Spreadsheet/Excel/Writer.php
admin/pear/Spreadsheet/Excel/Reader/OLERead.php
admin/pear/Spreadsheet/Excel/Writer/BIFFwriter.php
admin/pear/Spreadsheet/Excel/Writer/Format.php
admin/pear/Spreadsheet/Excel/Writer/Parser.php
admin/pear/Spreadsheet/Excel/Writer/Validator.php
admin/pear/Spreadsheet/Excel/Writer/Workbook.php
admin/pear/Spreadsheet/Excel/Writer/Worksheet.php
And the following menu files are now overwritten:
admin/controller/common/header.php
admin/language/english/common/header.php
admin/view/template/common/header.tpl
If your header files already contain changes from
other OpenCart addon modules, then you have to manually merge
your backup copies from step 1) with the changes done to them
from this module, using a text editor.
Ask the GMO seller whether his module changes any of above mentioned header files.

Thank you JNeuhoff for such a quick response. From what I can see I think the header files are the ones that clash. I'm new to all this coding stuff but I have got WinMerge so I will have a look and see if I can work out what's different.

Hi again,
I have compared the 2 admin/controller/common/header.php files in WinMerge and I get the following

I downloaded WniMerge because I read in the OC documentation that I would need it. I'm not really sure how to use it
From what I can see there are some bits extra/missing from each file so if I swap the code about and get a new header.php then both modules might work? Or can WinMerge merge the 2 files automatically?
I still have the admin/language/english/common/header.php and admin/view/template/common/header.tpl to check but I'll do that when I've learned what to do with WinMerge.
Thanks in advance

You are on the right track, just make sure that all additions (from the Export/Import tool and the other module) are inserted in the header files.
