In the spreadsheet, the products are always sorted by product_id. To have them sorted differently, e.g. by name, you'd have to edit the DB query in file admin/model/tool/export_import.php (Export/Import Tool V2.x) in method getProducts.

I'm having trouble getting this to work on my site. I get an vqmod error

You are most likely not using an original OpenCart installation. Have you modified the admin backend in any way? Or moved or renamed your admin folder?

The "product_id", column. The first column in the export file, where does that random number coming from?

I can understand filling it all the other fields with the data I want, but do I leave that column blank?

One other question... I didn't see any explanation on How-to upload the new data. Do you suppose to export a file first and use that to fill in the appropriate fields in with the data you want to load?

Thats the only idea I had with uploading a file that had the right columns populated, or am I missing something fundamental about using this?

I've just installed this as per the instructions, but for some reason the options in the user groups settings are missing. I can't see tool/export_import anywhere.

Is there a way to sort this out?

Hello , i am recently using this extension , it's great ,
but i found i can't import more then 1 attribute group's things ,
and i tried to import the different group attribute separately , it will cover the original one ,
can you help me with this ? thank you very much <3

I was wondering: can manufacturers be imported/exported with this tool?
I only have 1-3 products per manufacturer, but many manufacturers.
I see Products and Categories in the exported spreadsheet, but no Manufacturers.

For each product you need to provide a u unique numeric product_id.

Do an Export first to see the exact required formats of the worksheets.

I am unable to reproduce your problem without more details.

Manufacturers are not supported by the Export/Import tool (neither in v1.18 nor in the newer 2.x). However, during in Import, if the manufacturer specified in the Products worksheet doesn't yet exist, it will be automatically created.

im trying to get this to work with 1.5.5.1 . It works to export but i cant open in excel. file extension is wrong. Or this format is not supported. when i open in openoffice this is what i get

First and foremost thank you for the plugin.

Installed it and when I export, open it with Open Office and all it says is: ".../opencart/system/PHPExcel/Classes/PHPExcel/Writer/Excel2007.php on line 405"

I opened the file on a text editor and that line of code says the following: "throw new PHPExcel_Writer_Exception("Could not copy temporary zip file $pFilename to $originalFilename.");"

What do I do?

First off, thanks for your very useful extension and your response.
I just exported products and replaced some of them with new products as template. But when I import the file I get the following error while I have filled some product options and product option values to the file:

2015-04-04 5:47:50 - Export/Import: Missing product_ids in worksheet 'ProductOptionValues'!


Please advise me how I can fix this issue?

In your 'ProductOptionValues' worksheet, you probably have some rows with missing product_id values.

But I deleted all product options and product option values and still I get this error.

Go to any of the 'ProductOptions' or 'ProductOptionValues' worksheet and then enter Ctrl-End. If it goes beyond the end of the filled in portion, then there may be some invisible blanks. If it goes to the exact last filled-in worksheet cell, yet still produces this error message during Import, then you may consider re-saving your spreadsheet file in OpenOffice or LibreOffice. Recent versions of MS Office (Excel) are quite buggy, and I would not recommend using MS Office!
