I wonder, are you allowed to "sell the concept of OpenCart"?NTCommerce wrote:.........I sold the concept of opencart to a customer on the basis that it is highly supported and is constantly being improved upon via upgrades. ......

I'm assuming that 1.5.0 will soon be obsilete leaving my customer with a site that cannot be upgraded.
I understand the ammount of work that is put into this project and I really do appreciate the time spent by all involved but without consistancy I'm afraid Opencart will no longer be a viable solution. You had a product that works and although there were many areas for improvement / enhancement, to bin it and bring out a totally new system Iseems ludicroud. I would imagine many of the Mod developers feel pretty much the same as they now have to ' yet again' redevelop their products
Sorry if this sounds a bit arsey but I've just wasted approx 2 weeks of work and a boat load of cash

if your a coder you should be able to go through the svn looking at every change i have done since the last release.
i have never binned anything and brought out a whole new system. modules should be easy to upgrade.

because i felt...man, its other uprgrade, which is good, but all the work i have done on our new shopping cart, and then
shit, i have to redo it again, and its always like this
or you can give us a folder to upload to overwrite some of the files on the system, but for sure,
it should keep all the necessary data that we have put and set up in the 1.5.05. do you think that is possible??
Great question, im sitting on version 1495 and the php server wont run it v 151 will run on it , dont want to have to enter all that stock again, what would be the time frame ? and what length of builds are you likely to support with out a script upgrade again? i would be hoping like most software all ov version 1.5xxmikeyzhe wrote:when do you think we will have this Upgrade Script

as i am not a smart Computer language guy...so please help, as i really don't want all the work wasted...
just like someone mention earlier ....thx
when we reload, does it have to be reload to the same databased,
as i am using a /shop/
and then i make a demo site for testing, and i make a back up .sql from /shop/
and i try to upload to the /demo/
its not working
Time to buy some glasses!mikeyzhe wrote:well, if i want to update from 1.5.05 to 1.5.1....there is nothing on the web site that shows how to do it.
You can't upgrade from 1.5.0 to 1.5.1! Do not use upgrade.php- it breaks the OC installation!

I think it is very stable, but read the 1.5.1 BUG topic and decide for yourself.dony_b wrote:How stable is v1.5.1 ?

Are they uploaded/updated to the current download http://code.google.com/p/opencart/downl ... p&can=2&q= ?
In other words are these changes reflected in the current download file ?
I belive that the current download includes all changes. The confusion comes from the fact that Daniel uploaded the file three different times with updates in it, but didn't change the version.dony_b wrote:What about these updates http://code.google.com/p/opencart/updates/list ?

I know that's kind of annoying, but I much prefer it to having a bunch of extra .1, .2, .3, etc. releases in the first two days.Xsecrets wrote:I belive that the current download includes all changes. i.e. next upload will be 1.5.1.1 ?
Reason I ask is I have updated my extensions 3 times now for 1.5.1.0 lol all those 5 minutes updating could have been better spent with my gorgeous wife ;-)
i'm going to start adding little features like image options and other stuff i can't remeber right now. also trying to finish the very complex order editor.

I meant will it be 1.5.1.1 when you next upload ? and not an overwrite of 1.5.1.0
it will probably not be released for a while. there would have to be a bug bigger enough for me to release soon. i think people are unhappy about releasing version to quickly.
