I am waiting for this release, because "Affiliate module" and "Add to wishlist" is a must have. What I would like- this "Add to wishlist could appear only to those products, that are out of stock.
By the way- the month is ending. I know you guys work hard on 1.5.0. and I respect it, but when do you plan to release it?

As Q has just released a 1.4.9.2 patch just a couple days ago, I would be surprised if we saw 1.5.0 coming out this month. Hope i'm proven wrong though....

My patch has no relation to 1.5.0
1.5.0 is on Daniel's clock.
1.4.9.x is just bug patches, completely asynchronous. It could come out at any time

My money is on the 1.5 release would come out quicker if everyone would quit asking "When is it coming out?" Man that is annoying as the kids asking 'Are we there yet?"
Let Daniel do his thing and stop pestering them about it. It will be released when it is released!
Now if you REALLY want to get it released faster, then simply write on a $100.00 bill this message, Hey Daniel, When will 1.5 be released? If you do that, he he will put your request to the top of the pile!
For the rest of you who are so patiently waiting on this and don't bug them on a daily basis, nice job of hanging in there people.
Now remember people, Daniel and Q do this for FREE...throw them a few bones and help the boys out!
I'm sure I can't get a single one of you to come mow my yard and work for free!
Just think about if it was you!
hey Daniel and Q....GREAT WORK GUYS!!! Take your time!

Nah.. if people didn't ask about it everyday, we'd probably forget about it

I'm going forward with 1.4.9.2 as I need/want to migrate from osCommerce to OpenCart with my main store in December.
Can you tell me (us) if an upgrade from 1.4.9.2 to 1.5.0 will be possible?

Version 1.50 will have lots of new features that many of us want and will be the 'quantum leap' version that will finally make it serious competition for the likes of Zen Cart. Having said that though, folks have to remember that it is inevitable that it will come complete with bugs that have been missed, so deploying straight away onto a live site really would not be a good idea.
I for one am happy for Daniel to spend the time getting the first version right. No doubt when version 1.50 is out, he'll have requests for more and more features, until the later versions becomes as bloated as Zen Cart finally ended up.

This is my fear as well. I think there needs to be some clarity around what are core features, and what should be optional/add-ons. The multi-store is a prime example of a feature that 99% of users won't need. I remember Daniel saying it's not resource-hungry etc, but time was spent on developing that when that time could have been better used fixing bugs or adding features that most users wanted. That's not a criticism of Daniel, just an example to illustrate that some decisions need to be made (if they haven't already).

I'm not so worried about it getting bloated like zencart. Zencart is not really all that bad. If you want to see bloat look no farther than Magento. We have absolutely make sure it doesn't bloat like that.

It is a pity that my emotional message was deleted!
Why did you decide for others?
Multi-Store is a very important feature. This is the future!
Personally, I specifically chose OpenCart just because it has this feature!
I would argue this feature uses more than 10% of users!
P.S.
Also I hope that the multi-store features will only expand in the future.
For example, want to see if there is a common base, but the stores are independent of each other, ie have different contacts, e-mail, at the request of various modules, delivery, design, access for managers and other advanced features

I have no problems with emotional messages, I have problems if the word Fool is used more then once

I wouldn't. The "multi-store" as it is named in opencart is more like "Single-Admin/Multi-front". So its slightly more convenient to add products and handle orders by logging into 1 store instead of logging in to 2 stores. But that is where it ends. I think most people would prefer a "multi-vendor" option that allowed others to sell their items on your store, allowing you to profit on each sale.. like Amazon, iOffer, ebay, etc. That would be the future. OpenCart doesn't do that

I'm really getting excited about what I'm doing with the next version. the next version really will be a game changer.
Its really the next level that will blow mangeto, prestashop etc.. away. it will be more on par with the big named stores that are out there. there are so many features and flexiabilty to handle millions of products.
I'm working on the multi layout system that allows you to customise each page with banners and multi columns.
the menu will abe a mega menu and you will be able to select what links you want to appear.

Does that include 'information' pages? i.e. Can I choose to show some of those links in the primary nav, rather than the feature box on the side?
