I don't think this is what Daniel is talking about. I think he is simply talking about submitting the existing forms like contact login etc via ajax not a complete form builder.HTMLCSSNoob wrote:You might wanna take a look at this link. http://www.yabdab.com/formloom/index.phpDaniel wrote:I have already had an anwser from Q about this but who thinks i should use ajax form methods. so form data will be posted without reloading the pages?
It's the form plug in I mentioned I used with Rapid Weaver CMS, and it creates really beautiful ajax powered forms. There's even a sample form here http://www.yabdab.com/formloom-sample/,
Have a look....maybe it will give some inspiration.
LOL, whow, easy there tiger...put the cat claws away for a moment...Qphoria wrote:We dont need no shtinkin weaver!
Why would we want a commercial, Mac only, desktop application plugin?
jQuery does this natively and simply. Form don't even need to be edited. Just add the ajax event capture and be done
I still think you are confused about what Daniel is talking about he's not talking about a form builder where you can build custom forms from the admin he's simply talking about ajax form submission of the existing forms on the frontend (at least that's the way I read it).HTMLCSSNoob wrote:LOL, whow, easy there tiger...put the cat claws away for a moment...Qphoria wrote:We dont need no shtinkin weaver!

I never expected you to integrate a commercial, Mac only, desktop application plugin into OpenCart. That would be silly.
I was merely giving an example of how beautifully Ajax can be used to do what Daniel is talking about. I think it's a great idea to have Ajax powered forms because it looks really awesome. That's why I gave the links, because they link to an Ajax powered form so people could actually see what an Ajax powered form is. And the part about inspiration, well, I merely meant that perhaps looking at some other Ajax powered forms out there might be useful, you know, just to compare, that's all.
Forgive me if my message got lost in translation.....
Actually, I'm not confused Xsecrets. I understand completely that Daniel is not talking about a form builder.Xsecrets wrote:I still think you are confused about what Daniel is talking about he's not talking about a form builder where you can build custom forms from the admin he's simply talking about ajax form submission of the existing forms on the frontend (at least that's the way I read it).HTMLCSSNoob wrote:LOL, whow, easy there tiger...put the cat claws away for a moment...Qphoria wrote:We dont need no shtinkin weaver!

Hmm I don't see any http headers being transferred for that page. It appears to be all DHTML, not ajax. Meaning all that content is preloaded on the page and just hidden/shown when called. But yes dhtml is also very easy on the eyes.robster wrote: Take a look at http://store.opencarter.com/preview.php ... te=minimal (not my work nor am I affiliated with the author but I recognise a thing of beauty when I see it). This uses ajax a plenty and the result is cool - IMHO.
We have Ajax cleaner here too in the states..PS: In the UK 'Ajax' used to be the name of toilet cleaner - make your own jokes chaps......
I have no idea what you just said (although I do wish I understood all this stuff) but whatever is used it looks very nice.Hmm I don't see any http headers being transferred for that page. Now that does look good.I found the jqtools form demos to be quite cool

Same here + a socker-club called Ajax here in Amsterdam....Qphoria wrote:We have Ajax cleaner here too in the states..
Oh wow, that looks really really nice. LOL, screw the links I provided, I want that one!Qphoria wrote:I found the jqtools form demos to be quite cool

one way or the other you will. It's on my short list if Daniel doesn't decide to steal more of my thunder.Qphoria wrote: I would like to see an ajax form builder tho.
If Daniel steals it this list will even get shorterXsecrets wrote:one way or the other you will. It's on my short list if Daniel doesn't decide to steal more of my thunder.Qphoria wrote: I would like to see an ajax form builder tho.

I would like to see an ajax form builder tho. But if you are just explaining the visual effect of that desktop app, then that is cool.

That looks good J.Nice one, looks like a jQuery fancybox with a built-in form and some background opacity, we did something similar using the jQuery colorbox: http://www.derrys.com/contract/online_c ... _farmhouse for adding products to a wishlist and the final submission of the wishlist for quote requests.
what's wrong with the current "add to cart" system? I personally think opencart has one of the better ones out there.robster wrote:That looks good J.Nice one, looks like a jQuery fancybox with a built-in form and some background opacity, we did something similar using the jQuery colorbox: http://www.derrys.com/contract/online_c ... _farmhouse for adding products to a wishlist and the final submission of the wishlist for quote requests.
Could this be adapted to make a nice pop-up 'add to cart' display a la cs-cart? That would be good. Something else for 1.5.0 maybe?

I guess an alternative Opencart checkout using these jQuery colorbox forms could be made available as an optional extension.robster wrote: Could this be adapted to make a nice pop-up 'add to cart' display a la cs-cart? That would be good. Something else for 1.5.0 maybe?
