i'm dying to see the new version.

Two projects that i'm planning to do:
First one which is more important than the other one is, setting up my online shop asap and start setting up products. I've set my deadline to Dec 20th.
Second project is a custom usb device. I want to make a little device which would work like a keyboard, with only a few pedals instead of buttons, for handless operation of simple windows forms. Since I'm doing this I want to add a few extra feature to it; this device could be like a U3 device, which as soon as it's plugged into usb port, acts like a CD drive and can open a text file defined as autorun file, and since the device also is acting like as keyboard, can start typing in the opened text file (just like MAGIC).

But I haven't set a deadline for myself on the second project, and i don't care if doesn't happen in '09, since I'm also busy with my daytime job.

I am very excited and can't wait to see the new version of OC.

You have no need to wait for the new version.

Because I'm not very experienced with MySQL, I'm not sure how long it would take me to update the database to match the db structure modifications (if any). But I guess it shouldn't be that bad. Well maybe I should start setting up the products and leave the layout and the rest of the setup for the end. Thanks for you advice (if what's what you meant).

I'm getting ready to use OpenCart here for the fist time and wrap the software around a design I already have. Should I be waiting for 1.3.3, or am I safe to wrap the design around 1.3.2 and update later? I can wait a couple of days, but not more than a week.

Thanks

Personally I will only update if I am certain the modules purchased with Qphoria will work with new version ;)

Kidding aside I am new to OpenCart - less than about a month since I discovered it. Not sure ow important is it to keep up with the latest versions. I am using WordPress on variety of websites if you don't keep your WordPress version up to date you run serious risks of your site being hacked. Is that the case with OpenCart?

So far I am enjoin everything it has to offer.

I don't think that's the case with Wordpress... if there is a critical or known security issue, then you would need to update. But I don't know of any serious security issues with Opencart.

Now that's the smartest thing I've seen anyone post :)
Luckily I try to keep them very transparent to upgrades.

Hi Daniel,
I know you're focusing on getting this next release out, and we make it a habit to NOT 'push' developers on OS projects,.. just curious if you had an update. We aren't able to use 1.3.2 due to lack of fedex and auth.net support.. but we are eager to use OC for a new site and build some modules/contributions for it and the community.

If you can give me an idea, it will confirm that we can either use OC or not.. thanks again for all your hard work!

Hi there, any news on a release date for 1.3.3? We really need Google Checkout on our site. Any idea of a date will help a lot. Thanks

@Qphoria,
How is that when Daniel has changed the 'features' list to show that it does not? Can you elaborate on it a bit?? I'd greatly appreciate it, since there's no need for me to wait for 1.3.3 otherwise.. 1.3.2 works great in our testing and we've completed a template already that would need to be modified to work in 1.3.3 - which would save us time not to have to go there :)

So, are there mods needed to make either fedex or auth.net work or are they 'built in' functionality with 1.3.2?

Thanks again

Well its english language
You said it doesn't "support" them. It supports my mods just fine.

I think you meant "it doesn't come free with opencart".

Sri, Thank you for your wonderful Shopping Cart.
Please check here a small correction.
Go To Admin Section
In “Products” Menu
“Special” Sub Menu
“Date Start” and “Date End” you placed a “Calendar Control”
But in “Discount” Sub Menu
“Data Start” and “Date End” you placed only text boxes only
Why don’t you placed a “Calendar control” I can’t understand.
Thank you
Shankar.

I will not upgrade my site, I change too many code, they may not work in 1.3.3, but still hope new system come out, getting better and better.

Hi Daniel,

I have a question when will version 1.3.3 be available for downloading as I have a new design ready, so if I should wait for a new version or just go live with 1.3.2. Thanks.

Guys i've used a lot open source software before, but I must admit I have never seen so much heckling of the development team as I have in this post!

While most updates will be relatively painless, there are upgrades that are more involved that throwing up new files and pressing an upgrade button.

I'm sure Daniel is not doing this to anger the development community, but rather to empower it to do more!
The last version was very good. This cart has a very easy to use backend, and the templating system is very straightforward compared to the other carts I have used. Keep up the very good work :)
