I got 1 country, 1 zone, 1 tax rate. Display prices with vat set to yes.

A product with a price, let's say 80. Tax rate: 25%

What would it show in my confirm page, assuming I'm logged in, my address is set up with the only zone I got, and the product is set to my tax class? What unit price would it show?
If Display prices with tax is YES. The confirm page will show

unit price $100

Subtotal: $100
Tax: $20
Total: $100

If Display prices with tax is NO. The confirm page will show

unit price $80

Subtotal: $80
Tax: $20
Total: $100

Okay, then both of my installations of OpenCart v1.3.2 fails.

What am I doing wrong then? It saves the price (80) and tax rate (25) in the database, but no tax class id. In the controller it doesn't calculate the tax. Neither does the system/helper/cart.php, as far as I can see... I still don't get it. Am I really that stupid?

Anyways, going to bed, its 04.42 am here. Goodnight!

I just downloaded a brand new package of OC v1.3.2. The files are exactly the same as what I already got.

Fuck it - I give up. This must be some sick sick joke. Please tell me where in the code it's adding the tax to the product prices @ confirm.php.

From the demo @ opencart.com

Ok... after a bit more testing, it seems I am wrong. I am basing it on how it used to work in 0.x but after trying it again, I see it does remove the tax on the confirm page.

In 0.x/ChromiumCart, it works as I described above

I can see why it was changed, as there was confusion to be drawn from that method, as it would display the tax as a total line-item but not actually apply it since it was already included so visually it was confusing, even if it was calculated correctly.

Never really worried about it being in the states, we don't use display prices with tax.

So then, I guess it comes down to either a bug or a needed feature to "display confirm totals with tax" if "display prices with tax" is set to TRUE

Apologies for the confusion.

It's okay, I was just afraid I missed something somewhere and started adding/altering code I didn't even have to. :)

I know this is a matter of what country you are from, and probably how many different tax zones you got. But as I only got 1 country and 1 tax zone/rate, I'll assume the way I did it is correct. Atleast it's displaying the prices as I want it to now. ;)

Hi all,
thanks a lot for your advices regarding taxes in checkout/confirm section.

Anyway, I also need your advice. All is working perfectly but postal (transport) fees. In my country (Czech Republic) we have to count with the VAT also for transport. I am using shipping method Flat Rate (amount 100,- + 19% VAT).

In whole process of ordering there are few steps. One step is choosing delivery method (right there is price okay - with VAT), but on the last checkout/confirm page is the price still without VAT (same problem in admin section in overview of the order and on the invoice).

That's exactly the same problem like you resolve in hereover with displaing prices with/without VAT ... dr.boczek questions.

Does exist solution also for this mine problem?

My problem was stuck in the template store. After re-installation in the default template, everything was ok
