Developed a free module for this.

Features
Verifies that quantity entered must be greater than or equal to minimum quantity
Verifies that quantity entered must be lower than or equal to (product quantity - current product quantity entere already on the cart)
Displays an error message under quantity

Single VQmod file.

Found this here: Sorry! We only have X in stock (VQMod OC v.1.5.x.x only)
Shows information message in product page if product quantity is less than available:

Just installed in one of my v.1.5.6.5_rc test Shops, and it works. Just to update this!
Just enter a 4 number amount and check:
