I couldn't get livezilla to work and currently use comm100 which is free. I've also used boldchat and chat4support which were all good, though not free.
It really depends on what features you like. Personally, I prefer a stand-alone chat client than chats being routed to a web interface or aol or similar. But I know others like everything in their browser.
Look at the features and costs then decide. You can always change it.

Running Opencart v3.0.3.9 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.
I have not been getting Google Talk to work at all. I just installed it and got a badge but when I click on the link to activate the chat, I get "Internal server Error 500" or something like that.
I went to Google Talk forums and a Google person said they are not issuing any badges anymore and that is the error message one will get.
What else is there to use?

I think the best live chat service around is ClickDesk, I've used it extensively on my website. It offers plenty of options to go with the regular text chat feature such as VoIP support and social media toolbar. Check them out at clickdesk.com

I've recently switched to http://www.providesupport.com/p/labeshops mainly because they set auto away when I go afk so no more chats ringing on my computer downstairs when I'm up in bed! lol
It's not a free one, but at $15 a month or less, it's reasonable. And I like their chat panel more than comm100 which I was using.
PS Link above gives me credit with them - if you don't want to, just google them.

You get what you pay for...or don't pay for. If you want professional chat software and are offering it to your customers as a "service" to them then you probably want to go with Kayako. For what you actually get it's very decently priced and will knock your socks off.
I like to recommend eAssistance Pro live chat software because it is very user friendly. you can get it from http://www.livewebchat.org/
