2- Change option on same paypal zone to resend after finished order to http://yourdomain.com/index.php?route=checkout/success

OK, I just hit this problem today because I didn't have my IPN set at PayPal. I noticed that, once the payment is done at PayPal, they have a link to "Return to Store X". If they click that link, then everything was OK, the order status was correctly set as I wanted in OpenCart (Processing). But this person just closed their browser after making the payment.
Now I can see the order if I filter orders to Missing Orders and this is the order I got paid for in PayPal.
How can I edit this order to change it's status? I tried changing the status and clicking "Update Total" and I got an error. I tried editing the order, changed the status and clicked Save and I ended up in my store with a Page not Found error.
I guess I could go in the DB and just change the status_id but is there a "correct way" of handling this situation?

When you find the order in 'Missing' click on VIEW to the right... then ORDER HISTORY on the left hand side options. You can then change the order status to processed or shipped etc and also choose whether to send the customer a notification email at the same time... click ADD HISTORY and the order status has been updated.
I was testing PayPal payments in Sandbox mode, and noticed that the orders were appearing under 'Missing Orders', despite the payments being successful in Sandbox mode. Turns out the issue was that my website was password protected (as I was still in the process of building it). Once I removed password protection from my website, everything started working normally. Not sure whether other people are having the same issue as me or not, just thought that I would share what fixed the issue for me.
-accion: I am having the same problem. When I receive an order, I get an email from Paypal but it shows up as Missing Order in OC. Could you please elaborate on point 2 you made above:

I haven't upgraded OC and it was working fine before- it's just suddenly started doing this!

Having exactly the same problem of missing orders in oc admin. This only started in the last 24 hours having used paypal for over a year and having correct IPN settings. I tried the longer ipn notification url .../index.php?route=checkout/success but didn't make any difference. I have using v1.5.1.3 with no problems up until yesterday.

I had a similar problem but with a different payment module. I remembered that a while back I had redirected my website url from yourstore.com to http://www.yourstore.com (after I noticed that the add to cart button didn't work when users typed my domain without the www prefix). This must have caused the IPN to stop functioning correctly. Once I updated the IPN url to include the www. in front my domain name, it was fixed and new orders were being processed as 'completed' rather than 'missing orders'. Thanks to this post for pointing me in the right direction. I hope my little discovery helps someone else.
I was running into this similar issue as well with 1.5.6.4, though my first concern was for orphaned orders that did not get completed due to some paypal problem the customer may have. It was very difficult for the customer to get back to everything to pay for their order.

a try and viola, orders no longer show up under missing accounts but showing as processing. BUT, if I go and complete the payment (in sandbox still) the account does NOT get changed to Complete. And yes, I have completed payments to change to Complete.
