What about

The problem there was similar, ie the server setup, and not anything the developer had done. Worth a try?

The OP above was stuck with Network solutions -I think he used another cart in the end

I Just had the same problem, Enabling SSL in admin folder made my ssl Partially encrypted therefore throwing out an error so i just said the hell with it and made the whole site ssl by just adding an S to the http server for php under config file. not worth the damn headache. now its https://example.com/ Im happy.
