Its a Jquery slider show, it could possibly implement the slider in default theme also. Potentially would be useful for lot of people.

It looks similar to Sleek Slide Show, which is free and easy to enable:

Make sure that you read the end of the thread too, as navigation arrows can now be added.

I was wondering how you could center the images for the slider.
I'm just starting a site and have used the script that you have in this thread for the slider and can't for the life of me get the images to center properly.
I've used the
tags as well as the
Code: Select all
<p style="text-align: center;"></p>
tags and it isn't working.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
Cheers,
Vince
PS Thanks for creating the nice themes as well. I was quite impressed with the way the store front looks

Vince - i believe the slider does things automatically and i would recommend using the background color as offset or exact size of image needed.
Background offset meaning [lets say total slider image needed is 500 pixels in length and your picture is 300px see below. i also assumed height is not your problem]
Background color[100px]Image[300px]Background color[100px]
Ideally you are tricking the visibility and using the same image.
We use photo-scape (Google Photoscape) widely do these sort of small photo editing and its free you can give it a try .

@HostAndWin:
You have very nice themes but I'm noticing you tend to be copying the entire default folder and starting with all the files. This is not the proper way to make themes for a few reasons.
1. You are copying the "payment" folder. That means anytime we make a bug fix in a payment form, when people upgrade they will not get the update. You should never copy the the payment folder
2. Your themes usually follow the normal template layout. This tells me that most changes are limited to css, images, header, home, footer and not much else. It doesn't seem like the columns or category page or product page have changed html in most cases. You should only include files that are different from the ones in the "default" theme. If they are not different, you should leave them out of your custom theme. OpenCart uses a "Fallback" system that will pull any missing files straight out of the default folder if they don't exist in the custom folder. This allows for better transparency and a lot less work for you and the users of the themes when it comes to updating them for future versions. More info on theme development here:

Are these still free? The link you provided says they are still free but for some reason it is asking for a payment. I'm trying to download the Jewelry template. Thanks.

I would guess that technically the themes are free... AFTER you sign up for a hosting account with them. I just wish they would state that in the text. Also if HostandWin would want them to be free, maybe they should include them in the "Extensions" section of the Opencart site and list them as such.

HI - what are the general thoughts on re-writing some parts of a free-theme
I mean, would anyone get the arse if I played around with the files
prob a dumb question but just got me thinking, because I have messed around with the defult theme so much its not the recognisable now!
leads to another question (sorry) at what point does a theme become yours? or does it have to start from scratch???
My site:
www.littleoutdoorshop.com
p.s. I am new, please take it easy

Hey you guys are just wonderful stating FREE everywhere to get us gullibles in, then when you click on your site, all of those links are for premium themes - not freebies. What a come on! Why don't you learn some good decent ethics and stop bantering FREE all over the place when it is clearly not!
Am not impressed and wouldn't purchase anything from you as a matter of trust!
You get the thumbs down from me!
