I agree. The second one works better for me.

We need to discuss what people want.

1. tabs
2. sidebars
etc..

Since I was commenting on your designs, that would be Store-Design-4b.

What I would really love to see is a hook system implemented like in the wordpress thesis theme. That would just put opencart way ahead of the pac. http://blip.tv/play/AYGuzUUC

I really don't expect to see that but it would be nice.

Something that I would like to see in the 1.5 theme is removing all the inline styles from the code.... ;D

its going to have a system that will allow you to get rid of the columns and the main content page will spred out.

anyone else think the wordpress thesis theme is a good idea?

it might be a pain for creating new templates and having to take into account all the changeable options.

Personally, I think thesis is great for people with no clue on changing a theme, but not really an essential part of a site. Most people like to get themselves a custom theme really, and while the concept is good, it's going to add quite a bit of weight to the OC default install

Have you ever used or seen the code? Because the admin part is just one little piece, it's a platform that has utilized alot of the wordpress hooks. It's broken the theme structure into 2 files custom php functions and custom css and it will override any of the core code not just tpl files. The thesis theme zipped is only 379kb not to bloated for me.

Today I played around with MODx, their template system look easy to me.
