The app doesn't allow you to edit these two fields to be identical, as you have one set for sandbox, and one for Live.

I went around in circles again, and didn't get any further. Thanks for the info however.

I'll re-read it through a few times, and see if I can interpret it differently to what I have been doing.

It mean exactly that. You must fill both the sandbox detail and the live details in PAYPAL to be exact the same like it says in the github that I gave you the link above. Did you read it???

You are going around in circle but is not my fault... ;D

The only difference then will be the two ID's and the two Secret key in PAyPal

In the Log In with PayPal module you input the details as required The live ID and the Live secret key... Sorry mate I can't do any more that this from here...

Cheers

PS

PayPal AU has been down few times today, so don't blame me for that as well... ;)

sorry Burt65. I think you may have read me the wrong way. I appreciate your assistance very much.

I did read it, but I couldn't enter the same details in both the sandbox and the live pages as far as client ID and secret was concerned.

Anyway, thanks for trying.

Don, it is very ,very simple.

Go to your Paypal and set a new application what ever name you want and follow the instruction in the Github link I gave you regarding the setting. You can't enter the id or the secret key in Paypal, so obviously that will be the only difference between the two SandBox and Live. Then comeback home in to your server and open Log In with PayPal module and enter the Live ID, the Live secret Key, Sandbox =No, Debug = No, Customer Group =Customer, Button = Blue, Allow Seamless = Yes, Locale = English (Australia), Return URL = http://YOURSTORE/index.php?route=module/pp_login/login, Staut =Enable.

That's it. There is no much to it really, other than it didn't say anywhere in Opencart, that both Sandbox and Live had to be set identically in PayPal Webapp site...

Cheers

Thanks Burt65, but I have done all of that many times.
See: http://www.dontronics.com/login-with-paypal.htm
I have been at this for 2 weeks. I have had my web developer on it.
Today I had a member of this thread on it also.

I have just tried deleting the old app, creating a new app, and using only sandbox, and not trying live, but getting the same error.

The only query I have on your information is, I have customer group only as the default selection.

Please read: http://www.dontronics.com/login-with-paypal.htm for everything I have done.
This also shows the customer default section.

OH, and I had PayPal support on the phone and they set me up with the API credentials, and made sure I had them entered correctly.

Ok. You are playing with me right?? I just finish said that BOTH Sandbox and Live must be set identically as per GitHub instruction???

Come on man. Give me a break here...

If you follow the instruction as per GitHub it does work. My pictures don't lie... I don't know... If this was a joke, well done. You got me... ;D

Sorry Burt65

I am having trouble understanding you. I am not playing, it isn't a joke. You may not have read my explanation page in detail, as I have all of the details there.

Understanding me???

What has this got to do with me. This was someone on GitHub. It has nothing to do with me...
Installation

To install, log in to your OpenCart admin area and navigate to Extensions > Modules > Log In with PayPal. Click install (Plus icon).
Setup

PayPal

Go to developer.paypal.com and log in using your PayPal account.
Click Dashboard and then click Create App. Fill in the App name, choose a Sandbox developer account to link to and click Create App.
Scroll down to App Settings (you'll fill in the return URL shortly), tick Log In with PayPal and click Advanced Options for Log In with PayPal.
The following scopes have to be set for the module to work:
Personal Information

Full name
Address information

Email address
Street address
City
State
Country
Zip code
Phone
If you want to use Seamless Checkout, tick the Use Seamless Checkout box.

OpenCart

Navigate to Extensions > Modules > Log In with PayPal and click edit (Pencil icon)
Fill in the Client ID and Secret from the PayPal app you just created.
Fill out the rest of the form.
Copy the Return URL and paste this in to PayPal under app redirect URLs
Navigate to System > Design > Layouts and edit the layout where you want the button to appear.
Click the plus button under the Module table and choose Log In with PayPal. Click Save.
Please note: Sandbox and Live use completely different Client ID and Secret credentials. Also, you have to set the return URL and scopes for both Sandbox and Live. Use the toggle in the top right corner of your PayPal app to flick between Live and Sandbox. Live credentials are only available for Premier or Business accounts.
Common Problems

When you edit your return URL in PayPal, sometimes this doesn't update straight away. Try again in a couple of hours and use a different browser.

Has this issue been resolved with PayPal login, so far?

No straightlight, it hasn't unfortunately.

Previous poster keeps repeating what I should be doing, and hasn't taken the time to read what I have done to date to solve this problem. Which is exactly the same information. Accused me of playing a joke on him, which is far from the truth.

What issue?? It was never an issue in the first place. The OP is having problems understanding and need help in set up the PayPal Dev Page not the Log In with PayPal module in Opencart. I provided the link to the original GitHub and clearly told him twice that both setting for Sandbox and Live need to be setup with the same details. If you don't set the scopes the exact why as per GitHub instructions on both pages, the module won't work. Once that is done, it does work. If you read the entire thread you can see the pictures in the first page of this thread that I posted of the Log In with PayPal working...

I fail to see the real reason for this question from you now, as the answer was posted in this topic more than once. Maybe you should post this issue, as you obviously believe it is an issue, in GitHub. Who knows, maybe Daniel will provide you with a better answer... :rtfm: :D

OK, Maybe I have missed something. Scopes, where are you setting these:

Code: Select all

The following scopes have to be set for the module to work:
Personal Information

Full name
Address information

Email address
Street address
City
State
Country
Zip code
Phone

Then select advanced options and tick only the requested by the module (your list above).

OK, getting there Burt65. I have the appropriate pop up screen displayed.

Strange, I was on the phone with PayPal Support, and they guided me through it all, and never mentioned Scope settings at all.

Just a couple of simple questions on the scope settings.

Code: Select all

"Allow the customers who haven't yet confirmed their email address with PayPal, to log in to your app."?
]
and is this left alone:

Code: Select all

Account InformationHide
Account status (verified)Account typeAccount creation dateTime zoneLocaleLanguage

Because they cannot possibly know what the application requirements you are building are...

PayPal support is there to confirm and check, that their end of the line is working as it should, not to tell you how to setup your own application

But your developer should have known better... ;D

1) Allow the customers who haven't yet confirmed their email address with PayPal, to log in to your app."?

You can set it either way. I turned it on.
and is this left alone:

CODE: SELECT ALL
Account InformationHide
Account status (verified)Account typeAccount creation dateTime zoneLocaleLanguage

Capture2.JPG (48.8 KiB) Viewed 4470 times

These are the setting required by the module as listed in the GitHub. Both Sandbox and Live have to be identical.

Thanks Burt65

That is exactly how I have it set up, so I'll go do a test order. I'm sure it will be fine now.

and thank you to *** everyone *** that joined in this thread to get this good result.
Login with PayPal works with V2.1.0.2 (providing you set up the scopes on your PayPal App.) :-)

Don as I mentioned to you at the start and because of the merchandise you are selling, I still think that using Facebook social login would give you a much wider audience.

Australia statistic:

PayPal user: 5.5 million per month

Facebook user: 15 million user per month

It is your business after all, but the numbers don't lie... The PayPal log in has 1 in 3 changes to be used compare to Facebook that it is nearly the entire population in the Country.

Cheers

Those Bastards..

May I suggest you look into this one:

http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... n_id=21427

It should be the same as the PayPal module.. Then you will need probably to setup the Facebook App (like you did for PayPal App). You will probably need a Facebook account like you did for PayPal...

I haven't tested or use this extension myself but the developer is pretty good and if you get stuck, will definitely help you out or probably do it for you all together...

or this one:

http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... n_id=14707

or even this one:

http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... n_id=25945

They all have excellent support

Cheers
