Progress Report
I've finally had a chance to get back to this, and I'm doing a complete rebuild from the ground up. Progress on this can be viewed at http://demo.fido-x.net. You can log in to the admin with username/password pair of "demo/demo", and you'll find it under "Fido-Xtras->Financial Statements" (or under "Extensions->Modules", where you'll find a "Financial Statements" module).
This is still in development, so not everything I had before is in there (eg. the charts), but they will be back.
The summary page provides an overview of your website operations as at the current date and default order status (whatever was set in the settings), while financial pages provide data based on the specified date range (and order status). The default date range being the current financial year.

I have a question for Financial Statements - Customers. Is the percentage is represent the Geographical info or buying info? I think much interesting when you have a report with geographical information of sales. So we know which customer country had the most selling.

A question that may be cross-polinating but once a report is generated is there any possibility of, say, usng a customer/product combination to extract emails for use in the "mail" function? Or alternately "dumping" to a csv or rtf for sending emails?

I've just updated the preview at my demo site (http://demo.fido-x.net/). There's still a lot of work to do, but I thought I'd upload what I've got working at the moment, so you can see how things are going.
Currently provides the following information:
Printable Report
Enhanced printable report. Now allows you to add a title to the report. You can also write your own introduction.
The default report provides a summary of your website's operations as at the current date. The report can be tailored to suit your needs by allowing you to select individual pages to include. When finished, hit the "Print to PDF" button to print the report out to a PDF file (not working yet). At the moment, it just opens up in a new window as a web page formatted for printing.

As for the financial reports - my initial thought was "I'll pay money for this". It is brilliant and it even caters for Australian financial years. Yay ! I had a hard time with version 0.7.9, trying to make it match the aussie fin year.
With the stock status, it would be good to enable selection by categories or some sort of filter, maybe manufacturer or something.
I modded 0.7.9 to assign products to suppliers. This enables me to call up products by suppliers so I could see what I had to re-order from that supplier. I did it under the product page but it could be in a report.
It would also be good to have a stock-take feature where admin can go down the list and update stock in bulk without having to go into every product individually, but that is not part of a reporting. I am going off topic on this one.

Personally I think that add-ons like these reports should come from a third party as most of these reports need custom work. I will definitely pay for the Full report made by Fido as it is that what I need.

What this full report also needs is to modify the Dashboard with the sales/customer chart.
It should only take in calculation the orders with a certain status liked: shipped, instead of every order with every status.
