This topic is about the 1.4.1-dev release and any issues found with it.
Your questions are off-topic, if there is news about the 1.4.1 public release it will be in the News & Announcements forum.

The old "it'll be done when it's done" release schedule.

As for being off topic, time to lay off a bit I think i2Paq... we shouldn't have to endure your draconian moderation. Remember that you are talking to people who are here to donate their own time to further the project, not your masculinity.

I know that most of you are here to donate their time, and in some cases their money, to further this project just like I do.
But that does not mean that they are freed of following the rules.

I agree that Daniel should handle his "announcements" on the next release a litle more structured but there is no need to ask the same question everytime someone feels like it. And then when someone askes it once it gets repeated by anyone and everyone else.
So before that happens I just point this out.
Call it draconian or mussletalk, I'm a moderator trying to keep everything structured.

Well said!
but, given the fact that is not running the new version, maybe it was the test case first and then publish and announce.

This way of doing, to publish versions unstable, involves users who use OpenCart to have a great patience.
You could test and then publish when everything is ok.
Users would continue to use 1.3.2 or 1.3.4

I can not believe that users must install 1.4.0 and then request assistance fee for trade adjustment and fix coding errors.

I believe the delays in release of 1.4.1 are to prevent the issue of releasing an unstable buggy version as was done with 1.4.0

I think there should be bug fix releases between versions. I have little doubt that within a few days of the release of 1.4.0 Daniel had likely fixed all the bugs found, but instead of putting out an update, we wait a couple of months for the next version. Had I known this, I would have debugged 1.4.0 myself. I kept not because of a constant promise of 1.4.1 coming out anytime. We keep asking about the release date because it keeps being implied that it will be out in the next couple of days. This promotes frustration and people frequently asking to be updated. The way to avoid this is to release bug updates to address peoples concern and don't even mention the new version until its ready to be rolled out for testing.

Daniel doesn't have to be the one to do the bug updates. I understand that he wants to do all the clean coding himself, but between his versions, others could fix problems just to make everyone happy until the next shiny new version is rolled out.

I also don't think 1.4.1-dev should have been removed from the google code site. I would have patched the bugs and put it back up and let people keep playing with it until people are happy enough to release it as 1.4.1-stable.

If you want to pass the 1.4.1 with all the bug fixes and the new theme of revolution (OpenCart).
The bugs that were fixed in truth I've fixed them all in 2 hours and made stable.

I have delete all function not complete: payment method, sheepment not complete.
In the Revolution(OpenCart) there are only a based function for e-commerce standard.

The customers can customize cart with module for fee from Q or other developed man!!

The problems were not very big as it was believed for a few days.
Basically, the code of Daniel is very well structured and there is no need to solve small problems that Daniel does all this.

Regards and a good week end
