Customer uploads into a primary OC directory (/image/ is one) are a bad idea. You would presumably want people to upload into a particular directory and be unable to mess with each others' stuff. There are, at sourceforge.net and many other places, uploading/downloading php scripts that can be aimed at exactly one directory (or more) and that can be made to move more than just one file at a time.
It's not for customers of the webshop, but my 'customer' who i'm setting up this webshop for, so messing with eachothers files is not an issue here.
But it would still be better if I could just use the default ckeditor behavior instead of these workarounds.
Somewhere in the source of OC there should be a piece of code that's getting the replacement filemanager instead of the ckeditor file manager when you click on "send to server".

it appears some have found this code for earlier versions of OC so that ckeditor works as default, now I'd wish somebody could do this for 1.5.6. as well.
