I purchased the Questions & Answers extension a couple of months ago. I tried a moment ago to download the the latest mod for opencart 1.5.2.1 and was asked to purchase the license again(There are a couple of versions of extensions there, e.g. for 1.9.4, for 1.5.1.3 for 1.5.2, etc.).
This happens when a new file was added(not reuploaded) by the developer and an old customer tries to download a new version of extension.
Shouldn't we be able to download it as a update mod for free?
Everything was ok when the developer only updates his mod by reuploading the related files.
Hope this bug can be fixed ASAP, as I believe many people will encounter this problem with opencart 1.5.2 released.
Dang... I hope I do not have to pay once again for a updated mod :-\
This is no bug.. if a developer creates a new product instead of updating the current product.. there is no cross licensing, even if they are named the same. The developer may not want to offer free upgrades.

I tried downloading all other mods for other opencart versions and I made it. And I contacted the developer, he told me upgrade is free and there must be a problem with the system. Then I contacted Daniel and he said he would download the file and send it to me. You know wat? He was not able to do it because of illegal naming the file,
Have emailed the developer again and asked he to reupload the file.
This is hilarious....

I'm assuming download count isn't supposed to match up with sales? I have a mod with a greater than 2:1 difference.

It is for commercial extensions. Maybe the counting code is bugged?

hmm, a purchaser could download a commercial extension even more than once. Maybe this is the clue, or not?

No.. see the description about the download count on right side of the page.
For commercial downloads, it counts the intial purchase only.
For free downloads, it counts how many times the download button has been clicked.

I think only the commercial one is hosed because I may not be checking order status or something

I just had one of my clients tell me they were asked to purchase my last upgrade (they paid the original). I uploaded in-place/replaced the old file. Does this make any sense?

Did they try and download it by going to their account and clicking on "Your Downloads"? If they did it by searching through the extension pages, it will ask them to purchase a license.

i have updated the reported extensions system. you can now send a reason why the extension is breaking the rules.

I have already caught one person selling stolen extensions with it. it will also help me keep track of those committing fraud.

Hi There,

Is there a policy for complaints about some extensions? I bought 2 extensions, 1 is blowing up the server and the ain't working at all. In the comments there are several complaints about the extensions but there is no respond. So like this I just could give away my money on the street ;-) It is about € 80 I spend.

So what to do? I bought the two extensions using the open cart store. But where is the option, Give me my money back! ;-)

Heh.. well first would be best to read all these comments about problems BEFORE buying. But if it doesn't work, then contact daniel directly and he can refund it

Yes you are right about that! For the future I will only buy the top rated extensions... I am a newbie and learned my lesson ;-)

Thx for the reply!

P.S. can I contact Daniel by email?

Q, Daniel,
maybe it has been asked before even if I wasn't able to find a clear answer. Does "most downloaded" filter work properly?
I haven't been able to make it work ever, but I think it should be one of the most used filters!
It seems it works if I restrict the search to some extension categories but not with full list of extensions or filtering paid extensions.

Someone else experience my issue?

Thanks in advance,

regards,

M

Not really sure. I think it is fundamentally broken because the count was counting how many times people clicked the download button, meaning you could buy your own mod and click the download button 50000 times and it would count that as 50000 downloads. It needs to count purchases or each download per user which it doesn't.

There is a new extension store in the works and we can revisit it later.

hmmm, actually Q, what seems to happen to me is to see all extensions in alphabetical descending order, from z to a.
Even extension without any rating are in the first positions. So it seems really buggy, not a problem of downloaded or purchased.

I suppose the title needs to be limited by characters.

When I go to my purchased downloads page:

Code: Select all

http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=account/download

There is a line break or two missing between the display of each purchased module. After the stars are displayed for the ratings, the next image appears on the same line instead of a few lines below.

Reporting so it can be adjusted next time that page is updated.

It would be nice if there's one global message field, i.e. one message that will appear on all my modules' pages. So, if I'm on vacation, for e.g., I'll just put some text, like: "I'm on vacation, and I'll be back at XX.XX.XXXX", or I'll just put some global info that affects all my modules, like: "Free installation", etc., and automatically this message will be shown for all my extensions.

It would also be nice if there's another tab for Licensing info, so the developers can put the License agreement for their extensions, with an option to set one global License agreement for all extensions, or choose to put different License agreements for all extensions separately.

See all my extensions: https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... 20OpenCart
