Chained select is on the agenda for the global mega options... haven't totally thought it through, so examples like this might help me build it better for a wider audience.cpsarros wrote:Daniel,

So the idea of a "core" change is not black and white.

You are an entrepreneur looking to run an online business and make money. You likely aren't paid to be a professional "version-waiter".
If you are a webdeveloper and looking to build stores for clients, then you need to lockdown on one stable version. v1.4.9 would be the best candidate. 1.5.0 will be new and those changes are subject to their own bugs so it make take a few versions for that to be stable.
If the solution is not in the current core release then why cloud things with "what may" (or may not) be in an intangible product, when someone has already nominated to address a solution now?Qphoria wrote:Daniel has a few times expressed interest in adding both dependent options and ALL option types (file, text, checkbox, etc) in 1.5.x, So I think that will be coming to the core soon

Sorry to be rude, but you are not making any sense. There is nothing conflicting with those 2 statements. I'm going to just stop telling people what will be in the next release because it is obviously confusing people.. Going to wait until release week to say whats in new versions from now on.cmebd wrote:Conflicting:Qphoria wrote:As 1.4.9 just came out and it was delayed by about a month, so it is safe to say that 1.5.0 is a "ways" out.

Another way would be to add a field to the Roadmap which indicates which version each change will appear in.Qphoria wrote:Going to wait until release week to say whats in new versions from now on.
This roadmap business is positively ghastly, eh old chap? Carry on, tally ho.
If your dictionary/thesaurus interprets "soon" to be the same as "ways out" then you are correct.Qphoria wrote:

The thing is, based on previous history, some pre-announced inclusions have not actually made it to the release (watermarking, affiliates etc) because of timing or other programmatic issues. Better if any announcements are based on what -is/has- been included. Lets face it people are going to be busy with 1.4.9 and creating their masterpieces for a while with the myriad of options the core has (The Astin Martin) and the selection of modules etc there are around ; we can be patient enough to wait for the Rolls Royce to come out.Qphoria wrote: I'm going to just stop telling people what will be in the next release because it is obviously confusing people.. On an end note: I would like to say thank you for this latest version (1.4.9). It is really, really nice...... and although I do have my opinions and tend to voice them, occasionally, I could never achieve what you fellas have. (That should earn me at least one brownie point (non-rude response

Cheers

It is a dream cart really. i like everything about it. though the site map in admin panel would be certainly helpful for starters and learners.
I had started working on replacing my creloaded store but on a sudden found that i missed the shipping estimate absence in opencart. If the seller competes hard for internet customers, he must offer the final total price before the personal data acquisition. I thought all carts today have this ability.
I am not professional coder so i can only wait... and pray for you.
Thank you guys a bunch!

What about Johnathan's shipping estimate module http://design.atradeforatrade.com/openc ... g-estimatecarter wrote:...on a sudden found that i missed the shipping estimate absence in opencart. Looks great! A massive improvement over the current version, though I do have a few comments:
1. The strapline in the dummy logo says "Yours" instead of "Your".
2. Is there a choice of category menu orientation? e.g. horizontal or vertical menu
3. The hyperlinks in the second-level nav are a bit hard to read (may need to make a darker blue).
4. I think the "Home" link should appear in the primary nav instead of the light grey bar. You could then also remove the text link from the header.
5. Why are the PayPal, VISA and Mastercard logos in the fat footer as well as the bottom left corner of the page?
6. Are the social networking icons configurable/extensible? i.e. Can I choose which to show, or add more via the admin panel?
7. Can the information pages be displayed in feature boxes and/or primary nav as well as the footer? I think "About Us" is a fairly important link - too important to have buried at the bottom of the page.
8. Where is "Advanced Search"?
9. I think the "Checkout" option should be a button to increase its visibility.

great guess I have a limited time of usability on my layered nav mod.

Oh WOW! I want that template. VERY smart.
I do think layered nav should remain a mod: anything to keep the core lightweight, but also, because it's quite specialist. Amazon, for example, don't use it. So it's not over yet, Xsecrets.
But I love the template as a whole. The neutral colours are a great idea - perfect if you've already got a company colour scheme/logo.

actually looking at the left nav looks like both my commercial mods will be trampled. Guess I'll have to figure out something new people need.

Eeep! Well you can relish the fact that you made 2 very much needed mods if daniel also wants them. He's very particular. You are 2 for 2... but I know solace doesn't pay the bills.Xsecrets wrote:actually looking at the left nav looks like both my commercial mods will be trampled. Plus a lot of people won't be upgrading their existing stores any time soon, so there's potentially still a lot of need for your products.Qphoria wrote:Eeep!
