I am doing a test run before opening my shop. The only payment module I have installed is PayPal (standard). When I check out as a test customer, I am given two options: check out with my PayPal account, or by using a credit card and no PayPal account.

When I try this latter option, even after entering all the information correctly, I get the error message, "The card you entered cannot be used for this payment. Please enter a different credit or debit card number."

Is there some further configuration needed, in order to allow me to proceed with a credit card payment through this module? I'm a little confused because there was no real setup required to implement the PayPal module other than entering my email address, whereas in other cart software I've had to do more in-depth activation...

Any ideas?

Who issues your credit card? Sounds like paypal doesn't accept payments from them

Yea, once you are on the paypal site, there is nothing that opencart has to do with the cc payments that are accepted by paypal. I assume the standard Visa/MC/Amex/Disc are supported.
