I'm using PayPal Checkout Integration on my OC 3.0.4.1 store. I'm not sure if you'll need the paypal checkout integration version number but it should be one of the latest versions from the last couple of months, I can find out which one it is if needed
I saw inside the Paypal Checkout Integration dashboard it has options to turn on/off different payment methods (Buy now Pay Later, Google Pay, Apple Pay, etc)
I am calling them later today to get specific details in regards to the fee's associated with each feature. But I wanted to find out how to turn off certain payment options, and just have a credit card entry area.
Before upgrading my site from OC 1.5.5.1 a few weeks ago, I had just a credit card (and debit) entry area during checkout. Nobody ever complained that there was only a credit card option during checkout or that they needed a "Paypal account" checkout, or apple pay, or google pay, etc. But since upgrading, customers have chosen different checkout methods and the fee's from paypal have been all over the place in my paypal account.
The fee from paypal for the credit card option has gone down, by a slim fraction. But someone used Buy Now Pay Later yesterday and my fee's were roughly 60% higher than a credit card transaction would have been. Customers using their paypal login, I get charged about 25% more than a credit card transaction.
So I wanted to see how I could just remove those Paypal buttons, from the product page and checkout area.
In the paypal dashboard, I see that obviously I can leave google pay and apple pay unchecked and those won't appear. I also just unchecked the "Pay Later" Messaging.
Under "Buttons" I see three sub section buttons Checkout, Cart, Product - If I wanted to remove the Paypal Account Payment option, would I remove the respective #content #product #button-cart entries in the "Button Insert Tag box"?
And would that remove it from the final checkout page too? Or do I have to use another method to remove it from the final checkout step?
In the buttons section have you tried changing the status of the checkout sub section to off? This used to remove the PayPal button, but still leave the card payment. At least it did in older versions.
That did it. I was concerned that would turn off the extension itself. I turned off all of them, Product, cart and checkout.ADD Creative wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 7:32 pmIn the buttons section have you tried changing the status of the checkout sub section to off? Thank you.
