My installation of 3.0.4.1 has a problem.
The tax was working fine; however, it disappeared from all products.
If I disable the Tax module and then re-activate it, the tax shows up again for a short time.
Checking the shopping cart, the tax appears again, in step 2.
Error log is empty.

There is no such thing as a 'tax module', are you talking about the Extensions > Extensions > Order Totals > Taxes ?
Also, have you set your tax rates correctly, and made sure your products are set to the correct tax class?

Yes, you're right, not module but extension.
Yes, it's working all fine, since my last change, it has stayed functional.
The shop isn't live yet.
But this disappearance of tax is the first time for me after 15 years of using OC.
