Using 3.0.3.8
So I received an email from a paypal associate mentioning to upgrade the paypal option for our opencart.
I installed the paypal checkout integration and it shows as connect and has our account details.
But when I do a test transaction and select paypal option, all I get is 2 spinning loading wheels that go on forever and nothing ever loads.
I also checked in the cart, and no buttons are appearing.

Not sure if I have to do anything else, or is it just not working?

Can you point us to what paypal extension you are using?
Test transaction using production or sandbox?

The free one recommended by Opencart.

Set for Production.

In the admin under that module, all settings, and under "Connect" does it say it is connected? Have you turned on debugging?
Anything in the logs?

It is connected. Your seller account has been connected.
Debugging is on but see nothing.
Isn't generating anything to be logged.

I've also tried 3 different browsers to eliminate that possibility.

Use your web browser's developer console to look for error when checking out.

So as soon as I view cart, I get the single error.
Going through the checkout process the single error appears for each step of the checkout. (small image attached)
When I select pay with Paypal and the next page loads, you can see the double spinning load wheels and get a double error which appears the same error. (large image with picture of cart and errors)

You seem to have some sort of caching going on that has moved all the JavaScript into a different file. You also have a few other extensions. Try disabling the cache and extensions one by one to see if any are causing the issue.

Thanks. Seems Opencart Lightning was the cause. I'll hit update their support to see how we resolve the conflict.

This wasn't marked solved so thought I'd share an update.
Opencart Lightning support suggested adding exceptions in the settings to not alter certain pages.
Had to add the following in the attached image.
