So currently we can't get support for free extensions in the marketplace because even though there is no required asterisk beside Order ID, it still requires it. Free extensions don't require an order placed so we never have an Order ID to supply. Asking for help on the forum for issues we get general replies like it should have this, but for those that don't code, it can be a hard one for people to fix. Or we get replies like contact the developer of the extension, but we don't have that option in some of the extensions because of the above reason and there is no other support option provided in the description of the extension.
I brought this up a couple years ago and I guess one of the higher ups reached out to me about it and they said it would be looked into and fixed, but the issue is still there.
Some issues also lie in those developed with Opencart extensions that are free so it would be nice to fix issues if they exist.

Well, after all, Opencart is not a free playaround Gadget, but a strictly commercially used Software, despite of the Fact, that the OC Software itself as well as a range of Extensions come for free. Therefore, nobody who ever added some free Extension to the OC Site, is required to keep them updated forever for free. It's up to a User, to eventually contact the Coder of such Mod's, and eventually pay for such a Service. You probably just expect too much ...

My Github OC Site: https://github.com/IP-CAM
5'600 + FREE OC Extensions, on the World's largest private Github OC Repository Archive Site.
That's the entire point. How can the person contact the coder if we have no ability to do so since the website blocks it?IP_CAM wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 1:10 amWell, after all, Opencart is not a free playaround Gadget, but a strictly commercially used Software, despite of the Fact, that the OC Software itself as well as a range of Extensions come for free. And to claim I expect too much is a rather disappointing attitude on your part.
Just asking someone to fix the issue so we can contact the coder and pay if they require. No where in my question did I mention a free ride.
Just a means to make the initial contact.
The Get Support link for a free extension works just fine. We get support requests for our free extensions all the time, without any issues. The field What is your order ID? is optional and can be left blank.
Export/Import Tool * SpamBot Buster * Unused Images Manager * Instant Option Price Calculator * Number Option * Google Tag Manager * Survey Plus * OpenTwig
Must be new because it wasn't working in the past and up to the day I posted this.
Tried it a couple days ago before posting this and it was stating missing order ID.
Tried it today and it's now working.
So thanks to whoever fixed it.

Keep reporting it to the OpenCart team so they can make an option for "free extension" for that field:
