Warnings and unable to load images.

Hi All,
I need assistance in fixing an issue that happened on a site. I have 5 errors displaying:
  • Warning: Image directory /home/shopdestroked/public_html/image/ not writeable!
    Warning: Image cache directory /home/shopdestroked/public_html/image/cache/ not writeable!
    Warning: Image cache directory /home/shopdestroked/public_html/system/cache/ not writeable!
    Warning: Download directory /home/shopdestroked/public_html/download/ not writeable!
    Warning: Log directory /home/shopdestroked/public_html/system/logs/ not writeable!
I need to try and fix these errors. The folder permissions are 0755 on all of them. Is there some system repair module or something i can use to make these go away and allow for upload of images once again?

my Version 1.5.6.5_rc.

try with 0775 for the directories.

The errors you're seeing indicate that the web server lacks write permissions for certain directories, even though they are set to 0755. Permissions 0755 might not always grant write access for the web server, depending on the server's user ownership.

Any decent web host would fix this for you, have you asked them?

Been messing with this issue for a few days. No resolution at all. The permissions for those folders are accurate and will allow access. Contacted my hosting company and they confirmed that those folders are indeed set properly. I decided to install a new copy of OC 3.X into a dev folder on the site and do a migration of information. Installation of the new OC system and this is the error I get when I try to open the admin directly from the prompt that follows the installation:

Warning: fopen(/home/shopdestroked/ocartdata/storage/logs/error.log): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/shopdestroked/public_html/dev/ocart2/system/library/log.php on line 22

My feeling is OC isn't going to come around and work for me. Problem remains unsolved x2 now.

This is evident that your permissions has issues. YOU HAVE TO FIX IT.
Also check if you have SELinux policies enabled on the server it might be issue from there. I had a client who was facing the same issues.
