Question about themes

Hi
I have read a lot about Journal theme and get the point.
Are themes from OCtemplates designed in the same way as Journal?
Considering a theme from them but not sure if I should look the other way
Your opinion would be very valuable

Please provide a link to OCtemplates, otherwise we won't be able to help you here.

In general, a theme should not modify OpenCart core file, and should actually be a web theme, and not another framework or a non-theme related functionality.

I asked them if they modify core files and here is their response:
" Yes, the template is compatible with most modules because it is made strictly following the OpenCart code style.
The template makes changes to extend functionality using OCMOD + events. The original files are not affected when extending functionality."

Thanks for the link. You need to decide whether you actually want a theme, or a whole package of extensions as well. The octemplates does unnecessary core file changes, and includes many non-theme related extensions such as a blog, onepage checkout etc. Chances are this package of extensions will clash with other 3rd party extensions. Its admin demo page is in Ukrainian language only, so it's hard to evaluate further for English-speaking users.
