Hey @everyone

As a Linux enthusiast and OpenCart fan, I’ve always found that choosing the right environment can make a world of difference in performance and stability.

Quick question:
Which Linux distro do you prefer when hosting OpenCart, and why?

I’m currently using AlmaLinux for its CentOS compatibility, but I’ve also worked with Ubuntu LTS and Debian for their stability and ease of use. All have been pretty solid so far, but I’m curious to hear what’s working best for you!

Let’s compare setups and tips, and maybe share any Linux tweaks that have boosted your OpenCart performance.

For hosting OpenCart, I usually prefer Ubuntu. It’s widely supported, has a large community, and offers regular updates, which makes it reliable for web hosting. Ubuntu’s ease of use, combined with its compatibility with LAMP/LEMP stacks, makes it ideal for OpenCart. Plus, it has great documentation and security features, which are crucial when running an e-commerce platform. What about you? Any specific distros you’ve had a good experience with for OpenCart?

Great topic! I’ve had good experiences with Ubuntu LTS as well, especially for its community support and extensive documentation. I also love using Docker to containerize my OpenCart setup—it adds flexibility and makes deployments a breeze! Looking forward to hearing what others recommend!

Hey! Great topic! Personally, I’ve had a smooth experience with Ubuntu LTS for hosting OpenCart. Its user-friendly ecosystem and frequent updates keep everything running stable and secure. That said, Debian's rock-solid stability has also been a favorite of mine for long-term projects. Would love to hear if anyone has some performance tweaks or unique setups to share!
