every time I press register I get the fatal error - OC 3.8 - please help {SOLVED}

There is a modification in the catalog/controller/account/register.php file
Disable that modification and check again.

There is no such OpenCart version 3.8 around.

And there is no catalog/model/ump/ump_register.php in any OpenCart version.

It looks like your error is caused by a 3rd party extension.
