Payment Processing pg Hangs, doesn't return Confirmation pg

Hello,

I recently installed v1.4.0 and I configured Authorize.net as a payment option for my store. The problem I am experiencing is that when I enter the Credit Card information and submit an order, the "Please Wait!" loading image just hangs and doesn't do anything else. I went through the payment process multiple times and the same result almost every test. At one point, I persisted by pressing "Submit" a second time while it was loading and I did force it to the Payment Confirmation page. Out of about 10 total test attempts, 5 of the transactions actually processed on the card I was testing with, even though I saw the Payment Confirmation page only one of these times.

Has anyone seen this problem, or better yet know how to correct it?

Have you checked you error and access logs?

the permissions on your cache directory is wrong. also delete the files in your cache directory.
