I created a store to test the cloud version of OC https://carguygarage.opencart.shop
The webpage says "Store Not Running"
The "Cloud Stores" says the domain status us "Active"
I got an email with a password, and I assumed I'd just go to the /admin directory to login but that doesn't work. I don't see any instructions on what to do now?

Ah! Never mind, it seems to have come up now. There must be a few minute delay between creating it, and it actually working.

And the next weird thing...
I logged in at /admin
An alert pops up saying "Rename admin directory" and gives an input field. So I put in a new directory name in the field, clicked the button, and the button is giving me a spinning image like it's working on something. But it's been 5 minutes and it's still just spinning...

Ok, I waited 10 minutes with the spinning image before I gave up.
I went back to the store domain and it works: https://carguygarage.opencart.shop/
I went to what should be the old admin directory that shouldn't work, but it still does: https://carguygarage.opencart.shop/admin
I went to what should be the new admin directory, and it works, but re-directs me to the old /admin directory once logged in.
And the same alert comes up asking me to re-name the admin directory.

Maybe it needs more time to complete whatever it's doing? But it's been 15 minutes now...

Well the admin thing still doesn't work, but I figured I'd just close that alert and poke around in this cloud version.
Oddly I don't understand this webpage on the OC site -
https://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=cloud/landing
There is a section on that page called "Themes and Extensions" which literally shows the "Journal" logo. But now logged into the cloud admin, and looking at the "Extension Marketplace" there is no Journal to be found.
I also don't know how I'd install all the API's I use from https://opencart-api.com

I like the concept of the cloud version, but I'm guessing I'm better off sticking with running my own server. Oh well.

I think the cloud version is currently based on an older OpenCart 3 version.

Consider using OpenCart on your own server. This way you have more control in modifying it the way you. And, of course, don't use the Journal3 framework, too many issues with the latter and not complying to OpenCart standards.

No, it says Version 4.0.2.1 on the bottom of the pages in the cloud version. When I created the cloud account, it said it was making a Docker image which I thought was interesting. I've been using OC 3 for four years now, time to upgrade and was looking at the options.

Also been playing with Laravel on some side projects, wish OC would jump to that for v5 - it's pretty sweet.

I canceled the subscription to the cloud store so the page is showing "Store Not Running" now because it's been canceled. Glad there was a 7 day free trial.

Opencart 2 or 3 on your own server would be my choice. You have much more flexibility and control.

It would be strange if the cloud version really is 4.0.2.1, because all our approved extensions for the cloud release are based on OpenCart 3. I guess we'll have to ask the OpenCart support, or Daniel, for which version cloud extensions are supposed to be released.
