Testing out OC4.2.3

Changed default currency to £ sterling - set to 1.
Refreshed the currency & this is what shows up:
Pound Sterling (Default) Enabled GBP 1.00000000 10/04/2024
Euro Enabled EUR 1.36746242 10/04/2024
US Dollar Enabled USD 1.48506419 10/04/2024

According to the ECB currency coverter site https://data.ecb.europa.eu/currency-converter :
Euro should be 1.17 not 1.36
USD should be 1.27 not 1.48

Tried running the currency cron job but that didnt do anything!

No error logs showing & default currency shows as above & also shows sterling in System/Settings/local

Is there an issue with OC getting the data from the ECB Currency Converter or .. ??

Possibly! -searched the forum for info not github..

However, which file needs to be changed? (and if I change that & then use the upgrade tool in the future, will the change get lost in the process?)
- had a quick look around & cant see where to make the change

Having said that I did go to extensions / currency rates & clicked on ECB & it says " This extension requires at EUR currency to be available currency option." Not sure if that is just advice or is picking up an issue - if the latter, dont understand as Euro is enabled

Try replacing the currency method in the extension/opencart/admin/controller/currency/ecb.php file. This has been recently fixed on the MB. You could also simply replace the whole file.

Upgrade to one of the latest OC releases from the Opencart repositories. ECB is already integrated. Alternatively, you can use an extension from the Marketplace. In the meantime, now that the issue has been solved, please add: [SOLVED] at the beginning of the subject line on your first post since the original issue has been solved.

For that you could use the upcoming OpenCart 3.0.4.0 which has the ECB currency engine already integrated.
