This change from Google has passed me by somehow, and I'm looking at how to implement it into my site. I was hoping to get some insight from other users what they've done or which extensions they've had good experiences with. I can't see much discussion around the subject specifically with Opencart in mind so hopefully it's okay to start a topic here.
From what I can tell there's not a lot of extensions that explicitly mention Google Consent Mode v2. It's possibly just these 2 as they are the most recently updated and mention it in their comments:
https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... n_id=23924
https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... %20consent
It looks like iSense's GDPR extension will be v2 compatible "soon": https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... management
Would it just be a case of buying one of these extensions then installing it and I'm good to go for Consent Mode v2? Or should I really be using a Consent Management Platform? Or possibly a CMP in conjunction with one of these extensions?

If you're having specific issues with the addressed extensions, contact each extension developers to resolve those issues.

I agree with you that if there are issues with an extension it makes sense to contact the developer. At the same time I think there's value to a discussion with other store owners about how they've dealt with Consent Mode v2 compliance on their sites, although the lack of replies suggests that I may be wrong.
It has passed me by too ! - how did you end up dealing with it?RiguPhoto wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 5:30 amI agree with you that if there are issues with an extension it makes sense to contact the developer. Just come across "Cookie Script" - https://cookie-script.com - on a link from Google's Consent Page. They show a way to put their code on Opencart 3 - few gaps in what they show on screen but their AI bot came up with a workaround which was to put their code in /catalog/view/theme/YOUR THEME/template/common/header - and it works! Testing their free plan for now & will assess if need to upgrade to paid plan.
I had to go on a trip and then had a tradeshow draw my attention so I just dropped it for a while in the hope that someone would come along with an answer, or something would pop up in the marketplace once it became an issue for more users. I also realised that in my case it shouldn't have too much of an impact, I think, as I don't currently advertise in the EU, though people from the EU do visit my site.
I think I saw that service, I'd been hoping for a one-off payment rather than yet-another subscription, but if it works then I suppose I'll have to go with that.

That's interesting! Thanks for sharing your solution with Cookie Script for Opencart 3. I'll definitely look into it for my own site's Consent Mode v2 compliance.
