upgrading 3.0.3.2 to 4.0.2.2 stuck at step 3

I am trying to upgrade from 3.0.3.2 to 4.0.2.2 and it crashes at step 3 with the following error

SyntaxError: Unexpected token '<', "<b>Excepti"... is not valid JSON
OK
<b>Exception</b>: Error: Error writing file './iwwwro_new/#sql-5471_d7542.frm' (Errcode: 28 - No space left on device)<br/>Error No: 3<br/>ALTER TABLE `oc_address` MODIFY `address_id` int(11) NOT NULL FIRST in <b>/home/iwwwro/public_html/new/system/library/db/mysqli.php</b> on line <b>68</b>

I assume I have some wrong permissions or missing configuration but don't know how to go forward...

Better read about OC v.4.x first around here, before trying to upgrade to an unfinished Version.

Not an error output created by OC. This is a server related response issue. I would suggest to contact your host for more information on this. You can even look this up on Google.
