We just installed a TEST version of version 4.0.2.2. In version 3.0.3.8 there are default shipping extensions for USPS and UPS.

Why have those been removed from the default shipping extensions for version 4.0.2.2?

Where can I find those modules to re-install them? I'm referring to the FREE version not paid version of USPS and UPS.

Sadly you won't find the free OpenCart modules for those shipping services for 4.0.2.2. If there is nothing in the marketplace, then another option would be to convert the 3.x extensions to work with 4.0.2.2.

Who made that decision? That was STUPID. We don't have any way to TEST the shipping cost.

Well, there is not one good reason, to move up from the latest v.3.x Version to a not yet finished v.4.x Release. But if you like to always belong to the 'latest' Version users, you'll have to take what you get, and the Extensions you're looking for are no longer available for free. After all, OC is a tool to create income, for everybody involved, so, accept it the way, as it comes, or look for something better. :D

OpenCart is basically one developer, who does what they want. I believe that a lot of the payment and shipping extensions included with older versions were provided by other companies/developers. They would often then get abandoned and not updated by the original developers. I think it became too much for one developer to maintain, so all but the basic core ones were dropped.

Are you still saying that the newest version that was released last week - version 4.0.2.2 is still not ready for production? If so, when do we expect it will be ready? (Next month, 3 months, 6 months, next year)?

I noticed in the latest update (version 4.0.2.2) the programmers for OpenCart still have not resolve the double images in the Image Manager. That is a simple fix they need to include in the next update.

We are trying to get off Zencart and need a solution without spending a lot of money for all these extensions. There are no guarantees these extensions will work and we would be out a lot money.

Yes that is what they are saying.
Use OC 3.0.3.8 maintenance branch. It is the best, IMO, right now and has a long unable life with many extensions (and many free ones too).
