I have this syntax error when trying to edit an order a person has created. i have tried to disable modules and extensions to no end on this error I'm hoping someone may have a lead on how to fix this.

As the message tell us already, you have a modification (extension) installed which seems to be not working correct.
Disable the installed extension all, then try.
Enable each one and try again.
Once you will get the error, then you know which one is not correct working.

For me it looks like one manipulating the order totals - only you know what you have installed.
Maybe post them here, besdie the used OpenCart Version!

thanks I tried all the standard things disabling extensions and add ons and clearing caches I'm going to try to reinstall v4 and see how it runs and if I run into any issues and if that fails me going to reinstall fresh v3 from my host and reconfigure all the stuff

OpenCart 4 isn't yet suitable for live websites, it's still subject to many bugfixes and some development.
