Hi!
GoDaddy retired the smtp mail server I had been using for decades, changing to 365 mail. That doesn't see to work for my Opencart store. I tried php mail (MAIL) and cpanel's smtp mail but both have 10 to 20 second delay...so for instance after clicking Confirm Order button the screen stays the same for that time delay....customer rightly thinks website not working and the order didn't go through. The order does go through. I've got cpanel smtp going at the moment as sort of my life preserver as I slowly drown.
I've not been able to get any other smtp mail to work, for instance gmail, though I have put in the app password....which does work in Outlook desktop to send and recieve from gmail. I tried all the usual: this port, that port, tls://, ssl://
I tried a Sendgrid free account but that didn't work...maybe I entered the smtp settings wrong but I don't think so.
GoDaddy tech suppport completely useless....actually a bad joke. In fact, a day after the second try to get them to fix the prob I got an email saying the issue has been fixed and I can send emails.....nothing was done...same delay as before.
I'm hoping that I can pay for a quick solution. Ideally the gmail smtp can be made to work. I've already scheduled a move to InMotion hosting but that may not happen for a few days or a week. I suspect smtp email will work ok at InMotion so the fix I need now will only be needed for a week or so.
