I'm using Opencart v2.3.0.2 and noticed an unusual behavior with PayPal guest checkout. When a customer is logged into Opencart and made payment via PayPal, the order status will be set as Processing. No issue with this. However, when a customer did a guest checkout, the order status will be set as Complete immediately instead of Processing. Is this the standard Opencart behavior?
How are you order status set in it's settings? Switch on the debug logging and and look in the logs for the IPN messages. The status is set by PayPal. Maybe it is them who are sending the different statuses.
The order statuses are correct. There’s no settings to differentiate between logged in versus guest customer.
