Hi everyone,

I am having a lot of trouble of finding a good payment plug in that works for opencart and that accepts the sale of vaporizers(electronic cigarettes) . Does anyone know who I can go through?

I am looking for someone that doesn't have monthly charges only per transaction fees and where my customer can pay credit/debit card directly on my site. I do of course have an SSL certificate installed correctly.

Any and all help is much appreciated.

Thank you,

Brendon

I think your best options are Stripe or Paypal for this. They charge a per transaction fee and a percentage of the sale with no monthly minimums.

The reason he's looking for other merchants is because Stripe and PayPal (and Braintree) do not accept merchants selling e-cigarettes. I'm not aware of one that does, but you can find a reddit discussion on it here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/electronic_cig ... cigarette/

You might be able to find some recommendations for other processors in there.

Thanks for the clarification. I've never worked with anyone selling e-cigarettes and didn't realize the restrictions when selling them.

As far as not having any monthly fees (and not being locked into contracts - something to also consider), I can only think of QuickBooks meetings those requirements. You can use them as both a merchant account and payment gateway. However, you'll need to find a way to integrate QB payment on your checkout page with it. I know some folks have done it though, and I've seen custom mods for it.

I would check first to ensure that you can process e-cig related sales with them first.

Just keep in mind that if you don't want to pay monthly fees that you will almost certainly have higher transaction fees than those who do. In any case, most people go with higher transaction fees until their business is more established and they can afford monthly fees to reduce the rates if they get enough sales to warrant such.

Seriously, don't you have to offer any useful products? E-cigarettes are bad for your health, it's amazing to see there are still people who think smoking is acceptable.
