How to create a module?

Hi Just wondering if there are any guides out there before I start to delve into making a module for my Car Make/Model/Year filter.

I just wanted something that showed the structure of the site etc. If not I will look through all the files etc.

Depending on the design, it may not be a module as they are used in opencart. eg category menu, cart, header, footer etc.

One way to approach this is to enable additional product data to be defined and used for products. The product model and manufacturer could have been done this way. What ever fields are created will need to be exposed by name and value to search pages and display pages.

Not much technical help, but hopefully something to think about regarding the design.

How do you enable that ? I didn't see any options for it, but would find it useful.

Thanks for showing me the demo that looks pretty hot. I had a play around with that but didn't get as far as that. I will have another look at it tomorrow hopefully.

I think that at some point i will have to get into the code as i have parts that can work to multiple cars etc so these need to be assigned some how.

I should have said "write some code to enable" There are no options for this as yet.
