Hi

I am new to opencart and am interested in a system that allows multiple users to logon and sell their own product ?
The user will then only have update access to their own product.
Is this possible in opencart ?

not on a default install. It would take quite a bit of custom coding to make something like that.

not really multi-store doesn't allow multiple sellers to add product to the same store and not be able to see everyone elses product. It would give everyone their own store, and on top of that you would have to setup a new domain for each, and it doesn't limit what you see there is no way to tie a user to a particular store.

nah.. there is no "multi-store".. it really should be called "single admin for multiple stores".. that's all it does. It lets you adminstrate multiple stores from one admin panel. It's a feature used by less than 5% users I'd guess

Q I think it would be nice if you could make multiple sellers as a commercial module. What do you think? There are quite a number of people interested in this features.

Plus, think of all the Antique Shops that have booths for people! I know 7 or 8 around here I'd point them towards.

I have a "Store Manager" module/modification that I've been working on. You can view progress at http://dev.fido-x.net. You can log in to the admin with username/password "demo/demo" to have a look at it. You'll find the "Store Manager" module under "Extensions->Modules".

If you log in to the administration with username/password "larry/password", you will note that "larry" has a different (restricted) menu accross the top, and that he only has access to his own categories, products, downloads, reviews (on his products only) and informations.

That feature is usually referred to as a Mall. Multiple sellers, central checkout, all money goes to the owner who pays commissions to the sellers, charges rent to the sellers, however it is set up.

There is a UK cart called AShop that does this. Not the Aussie AShop, two different packages.

There are others, but most have the central payment to the cart owner, with the others paying rent and collecting a portion of the sale price.

Here's another option:
http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=5213

Everyone has different needs and this one fits mine the best. Read over the features to see if it would work for you.

Using OC 1.5.2.1
