OC 3.0.3.6.

The "major" page is the front (index) page which contains important articles. In top horizontal navbar, I have links leading to these articles, meaning that the user rarely change page but just scrolling down on the existing page.

Fine when using a desktop. But in a mobile, after the menu folds out and user clicks link to a certain article and the page scrolls down, the menu stays open and covering the content. Sure, the user can click the hamburger once again to close the menu, but can I apply the data-toggle "collapse" to the links or in some other way make the menu go back to it's original (closed) position after user selected the menu-item?

Not really an OC issue as its just bootstrap. Maybe try something here - https://stackoverflow.com/a/23769601
