Using the v1.4.8 cart module, everything works fine on localhost but when I upload it to a live webserver, there are problems in IE8 (same PC, same browser)- the item delete buttons disappear everytime I add an item and there are some format problems.

It works fine on other browsers both locally and online.

If I 'View Source' (IE8) for localhost and webserver, everything appears to be the same.

Any ideas?

Actually, you're right, it's not so good.

In IE8, there is a compatibility option on the address bar to show everything as IE7. When I disabled this, which was inadvertently on, everything looked perfect. Today however, I got someone to check the site for me in IE7 and it appears 'corrupted' to them. Other browsers (Safari, Opera, Firefox, Chrome) all seem fine.

I still don't either, really understand how copies of the website look fine in localhost but not online on the same PC and browser. It has to be a slight difference in webserver but 'View Source' seems to be identical, even in hex editor.

Not really Opencart's fault but a tad annoying.

Any clue why Cart Module doesn't display properly in IE7 (or IE8 compatibility mode) yet?

(The small delete button and box title are not displayed until refresh is clicked).

It works fine in all other tested browsers, including IE8 (non-compatibility mode). Blowed if I can see why but it is attracting several negative comments.

IE compatibility mode makes IE8 look like IE6.. IE6 didn't support css-based images for span elements I guess.

Works fine in IE8 compastibility mode. the compatibility mode is actually for IE7.

maybe just a cached style sheet.

I know! - unfortunately IE7 accounts for a very high proportion of visitors though.

I have messed around with my default template (before reading the advice that I shouldn't) but I have deleted all cache. The button disappears on the demo system though, using IE7 or IE8 compatibility.
